Respiratory, Pulmonary, Lung and Breathing care

JCS Lung and Sleep Centre - An Institute Of Advanced Respiratory And Sleep Disorders

respiration
The respiratory system is the network of organs and tissues that help with your breathing. This includes your airways, lungs, and blood vessels. The muscles that power your lungs are also part of the respiratory system. These parts work together to move oxygen throughout the body and clean up waste gases such as carbon dioxide.

Lungs
A type of disease that affects the lungs and other parts of the respiratory system. Pulmonary diseases can be caused by infection, from tobacco smoking, or by breathing in secondhand tobacco smoke, radon, asbestos, or other forms of air pollution. Pulmonary diseases include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, and lung cancer. Also called lung disorder and respiratory disease.

Lungs
The lungs are a pair of spongy, air-filled organs located on either side of the thorax. The trachea (windpipe) brings air into the lungs through its tubular branches, called bronchi. The bronchi then divide into smaller and smaller branches (bronchioles), which eventually become microscopic.

breathing
Breathing (or ventilation) is the process of moving air in and out of the lungs to facilitate gas exchange with the internal environment, mostly to expel carbon dioxide and bring in oxygen.
